The Best I've Ever Played

It's a brilliant game, it's fun to play with others on it because it'll be a great laugh. Whether you are a composer or you haven't seen a piano
in your life you will love this game either way! It's also good on your own because you can make your own video or take a private lesson, or jam, or conduct an orchestra or many other things. All in all a great game.

Great buy - fun for all!

I bought this for my 14 year old daughter who loves music and I am absolutely hooked - the handbells are sooooooo addictive! Having 2 Wii remotes and nunchucks is best as you can play against each other. Being the conductor in an orchestra is fun as you have your own Miis playing the instruments - such a good laugh. I would totally recommend this game - have been playing it since Christmas and laugh all the time!

Superb Family Fun

I bought this game in time for two family Christmas parties and it generated hours of fun beyond our expectations: our guests were absorbed by it all afternoon.

The Open Orchestra and Handbell Harmony games are fantastic interactive party games and worth 4 stars alone (but note that the latter really does need 4 controllers + 4 nunchucks to get the best from it). We found the level of difficulty just right for a family of 10 ranging from 7 to 70 with lots of scope for increasing the challenge for the more talented/experienced. Also, it's worth noting it is not overly competitive: the collaboration elements worked very well in a mixed family group.

Playing alone I found a lot of the subtlety described in some of the other more considered reviews and this will ensure I keep coming back to it in the coming weeks.

Despite the fun, I withheld the fifth star for the following reasons:

i) the jam sessions which form the main body of the game are too challenging for impromptu parties - you really do need to take the tutorials before you can get the best from them, otherwise they tend to descend into audio-mush.

ii) not enough tunes, at least not until you've progressed further to unlock them.

Despite these two minor gripes it really is a very imaginative and well-executed game.

Good, but needs expanding

I'm not going to talk much about the use of the instruments, because that has been talked to death. Basically, you wave your arms around as if you were playing them. It's amazingly clever and very fun.
My gripe with it is there are few tracks that you can actually play. For example, conductiong an orchestra is fun, but htere are only 5 songs to conduct! There are lots of instruments to play, and quite a few tracks to play them to, but it does take a while for them to become unlocked, so if you just want to sit down and play "Wake me up before you go go" (did I mention they're not very modern either?), then you've another thing coming.
Also, the Nintendo WiFi & Touch Generation aspect - I expected that you could play your instrument in your home, and play with a friend at their home elsewhere. Alas, you cannot. The only thing the internet connection does is allow you to share videos, which isn't very exciting.

Good, but could be better.
Still, the I recommend the game whole-heartedly.

wii music is a very good game for the family. it is fun in the jams witha huge variety of intraments. to unlock musice there are lessons which you have put up with. tehy are a bit boring. That is the only bad bit on a very good and fun game.
