As a classical guitar player I'm always looking for ways to speed up the time it takes to file and shape the nails on my right hand. The right hand produces the sound on a guitar so it's important that the nails are the correct shape and the edges perfectly smooth. This is usually a two stage process and the first stage is rough shaping. I've tried all sorts of files (NOT emery! - it rips the nail) and this Manicare Crystal nail file is brilliant. It removes nail quickly and efficiently without ripping and retains thickness for subsequent polishing. It's washable and its length is perfect to keep in my guitarists tool kit in my guitar case. I'm using it with the Manicare buffer which has the perfect grades of buffing material for getting the nail edges totally smooth and glassy.
